The most popular flushmounts for the Ninja 250 come from Keith at Asian Signals. Keith lives in Thailand, but not to worry, the shipping times have been reported as very good.

These flush-mounts fit the Ninja 250 better than other models. They were purposely designed for the bike. His store is on eBay. Although most people on the board will refer to it as Keith in Asia, he doesn't use that name any more.

This is a quality product. Pretty much everyone who has gotten these has been satisfied with them. He has a very good customer service rep, too. Comes in a variety of colors, and sometimes, if you're looking for something a little out of the ordinary, you can drop him an e-mail and he may be able to get it.

Notes: You may want to change out the bulbs to get something a little brighter. Also, the supplied bulbs tend to flash at a very fast rate. #1156 bulbs work well for both these situations, although they touch, or come very close to touching, the lens. This is fine if you're using them for turn signals only, as they aren't on for very long, but 1156's shouldn't be used in a Daytime Running Lights setup. If you have DRL's, you should put #1003 in. They are smaller, but don't come in amber, which you need if your lenses are clear.

Well, they're not supposed to come in clear, but one of our members found the TRUCKNVANS website. They have them (and other bulbs, too) in many different colors. Check your local regulations, though. You'll probably be required to have amber.

Here's a comparison with data from the Sylvania Automotive website.

Another Option

There are other flush-mount signals available. They won't fit your Ninja exactly, though. Try looking around your local bike shops or auto parts stores. You might find something you like. The article below uses a product which is no longer available, or which has a different part #.

Lockhart-Phillips makes flush-mount signals, model 122-9900; these fit the fairing recess better than the other units they offer. Duke has some units he got from Autozone for about $10 that are actually Ford truck marker lamps; they don't look bad, either.

Here are two pics of the assembly. The first shows how the unit looks when installed, the other has the unit pulled so you can see the mounting holes. There's only a bit of space at the back that is left when installing them. You could bondo over the recess and repaint, if you wanted.

You'll notice there are two posts on the back of the unit. One of these fits right into the stock front mounting hole (second hole from the front) The second hole has to be drilled to fit the rear mounting post; it's the small hole in front of the large hole near the back of the indention. There is also a 'v' shaped piece that has to be cut out of the very large hole (that would normally accomodate the stock pod post); this is to allow the wires to be slipped in and not get crimped by the unit when it is attached. On the back side of the fairing, each post is held in place with a washer and a 9mm nut (included, with the unit).

To attach the new lamp assembly, you have to remove the rubber base to get it to fit into the stock recess. Be careful when drilling the fairing! It doesn't take much force to go through that plastic. There are only two wires to worry about: the red one goes to the green/gray hot wire, and the black one goes to the black/yellow ground wire. Installation takes about 15 minutes for the pair. These look really good when combined with the DRL mod.
